This can be done by contacting the IBM Registration Center at 1-800-446-8989. You will be asked for three items. One is Peoplesoft's Customer Number which is 8023786. The second is the systems Target ID, which can be obtained by executing the following command: /usr/lib/netls/bin/lstargetid. And the third is the number of licenses for the product. This should be one, unless the customer has stated otherwise.

The Registration Center will create a nodelock key for the product and email it or FAX it to you along with the instructions on how to update the nodelock file with the key information. So this should be quite simple but just want to see if I got it right. I am trying to find out what version of xlC compiler is installed on AIX box. I tried xlC -v/xlc -version which is not supported by the compiler. Try lslpp -l grep -i vacpp and check for lines about the C/C Compiler: vacpp.cmp.core 9.0.0.11 APPLIED IBM XL C/C Compiler vacpp.cmp.core 9.0.0.0 COMMITTED IBM XL C/C Compiler This means I have 9.0 installed with a subsequent PTF added.
