I was looking for night stands for my bed from hooker furniture when I found this store. They are the only store in town that carries hooker furniture collections. They had amazing pieces but I do think they priced their items high!
My bed was $700 more than I paid for it last year. I actually found the staff to be extremely helpful and courteous.
The person helping me (sorry forgot his name) brought out catalogs and pictures when I couldn't find anything in the store that met my specifications. Although I didn't purchase anything, I will return when I need something else in my new place! The furniture is amazing but costumer service not so much. We got an $1100 office chair and they assembled it wrong and we told them about it. They said we will order the part should be 8-10 business days.
3 weeks later we give them a call and they said they never said that it would only take that long. We said okay, well then how long will it take then they said it shouldn't take longer than a month. 2 months later we can finally sit in the $1100 chair.
I wouldn't have had a problem with this if the communication would've been better or if I wouldn't have been treated so poorly by the GM and the other 'costumer service' people. They may say you just want something free, but seriously after waiting that long you don't offer anything to help someone who just has an office chair that they can't use in their office. That's just bad costumer service.
Like I said the furniture is great, I just hope you don't have any thing break! We recently moved to Lubbock and ended to couches.
The staff at Spears was more than friendly and helpful with everything we needed. After our new couches were delivered we ran into a few issues with them and contacted both the manufacturer and warranty company. Neither would take care of the issue and with one call to Spears they had everything taken care of. Although their pricing is a little high it is well worth the it when you are taken care of above and beyond any other store. I would highly recommend Spears! I am giving this place one star, only because there is no option for a black hole where other stars go to die.
I came to this furniture store to get a rocker/glider for my pending child. A friend of mine had purchased a glider, which was very nice, for a decent price. When I originally inquired at the store, the 'designer' helping me said the price could be matched.
I was still considering some other options, and I work between 60-80 hrs/week, so I took a few weeks to place my order. When I went back in to Spears, a very lethargic, and creepy gentleman at the front informed me the 'designer' I had been working with was out, and I would have to come back to place my order. I informed him, that my schedule was very tight and if there was anyone else who could help me. ( on top of the fact I was 35 weeks pregnant!) I was directed to the back of the store. The store is a labyrinth of furniture, with a poor lay-out and organization. When I found my way to the customer service area, I was again told that I would have to return when the 'designer' was back.
When I said that there wasnt another good time to return, the customer service agent agreed to help me. I was AGAIN reassurred that the original price I was quoted was still in play, and I placed my order. I asked that my card be run for the full amount.
This request was essentially ignored and they wanted me to open a line of credit. I declined this, and my card was run for 1/2 the total price, where I could pay off the balance when the chair arrived. ( I didnt like this option either, but was tired of arguing with them.) I was told it would take 4-6 weeks for the chair to arrive. Cut to 4 weeks later.

My child is born, and I call to inquire about the chair. I am told that since I had 'wanted it custom,' that the actual time was 8-10 weeks. When I ordered the chair, I had been made to think the only way to obtain this chair was to chose your own upholstery. The 'designer' told me she would check on it and call me back. She did not call. I waited another 4 weeks, and called again.
I decided that, since this place had been very unprofessional, I just wanted my money back. The person answering the phone told me that cancelling was 'impossible' and I was directed to a manager's answering machine and told to leave a message. The manager never called. 'designer' called me to inform that the chair was en route. She also left a message informing me that my balance was TWICE the original price we had agreed on.
I promptly called her back, to inquire about this price change, where she immediately became very defensive and said she never quoted me the original price of $496, but had always said the price was $996. I was appalled. She was raising her voice and kept saying over and over, 'no, ma'am.no, ma'am.' I then asked again if I could just cancel it, and was informed that I could not, and I need to come in and pay.
Since my work schedule is nuts, my husband had to go to the store, once again 'greeted' by the creeper in the corner. No manager ever came to talk to him, instead, the customer service agreed to refund us all but $100 of the down payment. They said this covered a 'restocking fee,' which was never addressed originally.

We are now disputing this charge with our card company. This place was so unprofessional and difficult from the beginning. I should have trusted my gut feeling to not purchase from them.
I would want anyone I care about to know how awful this place is, especially when there are many other places to buy furniture in town. Stay far away. Update: There is no way to respond to the managerial response below. 3 years later, I have bought multiple pieces of beautiful custom furniture from other establishments, and have still never has as horrible of a time getting a dang chair.
There are others out there who have been through similar experiences. (Just look at the 'not recommended' reviews, as well as word of mouth.) Do not let the 'high-end' reputation fool you.
This place is not worth the effort.
