User manual(English). By c.January 27, 2018 19:36:31 I have an older PC case with new insides and a USB-3 card at the back running W 10. I do a lot of church audio and video recordings. USB-3 is definitely the best access for these large files. With the dodocool USB-3 hub plugged into my USB-3 card and the 4-Port hub beside my keyboard I can load from any USB device to my PC, from the PC to any USB device, and between two USB devices fast and efficiently. It is a nice addition to your PC.

It probably works on I-MAX also. By N.January 2, 2018 01:44:24 Works as advertised. It's just a 4-port hub for your USB 3.0-equipped computer. The ports are a little stiff but should get better with use. The plastic base does have rubber feet which help it stay on a smooth surface. It would be nice if it was weighted down slightly (or made of a thicker metal.) The blue LED light stays on even if the computer is off (unless it's a laptop solely on battery power.) The cable could have been slightly longer but it's not bad.

It's approximately 2 feet. Final score: 4.75/5. By K.January 1, 2018 03:15:07 I wanted a hub with some stability and sturdiness to use by my docking station with the USB connections on top rather than on the side. This meets my need to perfection! No, it's not metal or heavy, but I also didn't pay through the nose! Have connected devices, flash drives, and external hard drives to it and it connects immediately and without any issues.

Speed is incredible! But then I got it so I could expand with my new laptop and it is the first USB 3.0 computer I've owned.

Downloaded several gig of files onto an external USB 3.0 1 TB HD. Took 1.5 hours to load from my 2008 computer. Took about 60 seconds to download onto my new i7 computer via USB 3 connectivity. I cannot believe the speed, but then I've been using the same computer for 8 years! About time I got upgraded. By E.December 31, 2017 18:04:38 There does not appear to be many technical details regarding the usb 3.0 hub and ethernet combo so I'm writing this review to clarify a few details. The current version of this hub as of Oct 1 2014 does not appear to exhibit 2.4GHz wireless interference issues.

I tested this on 5 different notebooks and desktop (MacBook Pro 13' 2014, Sony Vaio Tap 11, HP Folio 13, Dell Precision M6800, Generic DIY PC with Gigabyte Z77 Motherboard) Tested with WiFi, bluetooth keyboard, generic 2.4GHz thumb keyboard, Logitech mouse with 2.4GHz unified receiver. I had two different thumb drives plugged in (Corsair and Patriot) and transferred data from them while simultaneously downloading a 100MB file using 2.4GHz connected WiFi- no issues. Hub uses newer VL812 chip with v9091 firmware.

This is the latest firmware and has no known issues on any platform (Windows, Mac, or Linux) - Ethernet is a Realtek RTL8153 controller. Support should be included with current versions of Mac OS, Windows, and Linux without any additional drivers. This is not a ASIX ethernet chip that requires additional drivers. It has been mentioned in another review but the length of the cable is long. 12in to be exact. Some people might find this long but its exactly what I needed.

Its difficult to find a portable USB 3.0 hub with a longer cable. This lengthy cable is helpful for reaching USB ports on tablet PCs with ports near the top. Its also useful for keeping the hub away from objects that may occupy your desk space such as computer mice. UPDATE (10/4/2014) - Hub has support for UASP. This will not add UASP support to storage devices that do not already have UASP support. However, it does not get in the way like some USB 3.0 hubs. Hub adds on average 5-10us (microseconds) to each IO operation; I verified this with ioping.

However this does not appear to have any effect on IOPs since USB latency is already between 200-300us on average. SUMMARY -VL812 B2 USB 3.0 HUB with v9091 firmware - Realtek RTL8153 ethernet - 12in long USB cable (compared to the more common 3-5in pigtail) - Hub support UASP. By J.December 31, 2017 03:41:05 Video Review Summary: → If you are in the market for a USB Ethernet adapter, the Dodocool 3-Port USB 3.0 Multi-Function Hub With Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter is a great choice and here is why. → The unit not only features a Gigabit Ethernet port on the end, but will give you a net gain of two additional USB 3.0 ports from the one you use on your computer. When connected to a USB 3.0 port, you can enjoy USB 3.0 Speeds on the hub ports. No USB 3.0 port on your computer?

This hub is backwards compatible and has no issue working with a USB 2.0 port, speeds may be reduced accordingly though as is to be expected. → I compared the performance of the USB ports on this hub with my original USB port on the computer by using a flash drive and a USB hard drive. Transferred the same sets of files (Large Video, several word documents, a few MP3's).

When the devices were plugged in independently, I could tell no difference in speed of file transfer and only a small marginal drop when multiple devices were connected. The speeds and transfer rates are pretty spot on, living up to the USB 3.0 expectation this hub sets. → In terms of Ethernet connectivity, I connected the hub to my computer and set it up using the drivers CD. My system is Windows 8, 64-bit and my typical connection speed is about 100mbps using a built-in b/g wireless card. After turning off my wireless card and connecting my Ethernet cable, the connection picked up immediately.

After checking the connection speed it showed 1gbps, just as it should. → At the end of the day, this hub and adapter perform as expected.

You are only limited in use by the hardware you currently own and if you have an updated router or connection point and a computer with a USB 3.0 port you will be most likely to experience the maximum results. The hub/adapter is priced competitively and appear to be a really great value. Sample Provided For Review.

By G.December 30, 2017 22:57:28 I've literally only received and tested the available functionality of this device - so take this review for what it's worth. I got the 3-port USB hub because a lot of tablets (like my Surface RT) only come with one USB port. I plugged the Dodocool into my Surface RT, and the device was recognized immediately.AS A USB PORT HUB. I tried the functionality of the pass-through RJ45 port, and unfortunately, this protocol was not recognized by RT (this is a known issue with RT, so I'm not dinging Dodocool for the shortcoming). All of the USB ports, however, worked fine with the Surface RT.

Just to make sure, I plugged the Dodocool into my Lenovo X200T tablet/laptop - and the RJ45 port worked fine there (Win XP), making an immediate connecting to my wired Internet. Honestly, the Dodocool may indeed be worth 5 stars - but I dinged it a notch for its short USB connecting cable, and also because I haven't really had a chance to use it that much. I'll consider upgrading the rating once I've really had a chance to put it through its paces. By C.December 30, 2017 22:33:38 These USB hubs seem to have a high percentage of negative reviews, so I decided to spend a little extra money for this one. I am very happy with this. Looks good, works great. It is just what I needed to plug into my new laptop's USB 3.0 port.

My primary reason is to be able to use the old IBM style keyboards I have around here, far better than modern Chiclets type, and according to my neighbor next door are valued by him and his fellow workers who know this.
